I would very much like to start growing food because I think it would be educational, empowering and more responsible/sustainable. It would also help me to connect with the land and the Brooklyn gardening community.
I recently moved to Brookyn and have just joined Green Guerillas. I am interested in farming in Brookyn in a location such as The Grange. I am also applying to do one of the Brooklyn community gardening programs this summer.
I would like to explore rooftop gardening and other gardening that enhances green building. I think doing this would also help me to learn more about sustainable building.
I do not yet have one.
I do not have one but am looking to join a community farm/garden as a volunteer through a Brooklyn gardening cert program this summer or Green Guerillas. I may also learn about an opportunity from Heritage Radio Network.
Saw this meetup on Just Food website. My CSA connects me to farmers who grow local, organic food I eat. Would like to increase understanding of food and environment through gardening. Am interested in food policy, herbal medicine and composting.
I think the group is doing great work to improve NYC through more gardens and I feel happy to be a new member.
