Classical Music Group Meetings at Winter Park University Club

  • Feb 20, 2013 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Our group, open to music lovers and the general public, meets at 1 pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the University Club of Winter Park, corner of Webster and Park Ave. Meetup Members gather at 12:30 at our 'table.'  After enjoying wine, coffee, tea, and hor d'oeuvres, relax for an Informative music presentation with live performances featuring world-class musicians.

For both diehard classical music lovers and newcomers,
Pianist Tom Conyers
provides melodic music like you’ve never heard before,
enhanced by his rare gift for improvisation.

He will perform Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”
“Girl with the Flaxen Hair”
excerpts from Rachmaninoff’s “Second Symphony,
”Chopin’s “Minute Waltz”
“Nocturne in Eb Major,”
and “Polonaise in Ab
Major” woven together in an extraordinary way.

Also hear Saint-Saens’
“The Swan” and “Carnival ofthe Animals,”
Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody”
and Strauss waltzes.

His presentation mixes humor
and
improvisation with some wackiness.

A pianist since age seven,
Conyers studied with Dr. Gary Wolf at UCF,
where he earned his B.A. in Music Education,
and did graduate piano study at the University of
North Texas.

HI, Janet ~ the first couple of times you attend this group at The University Club, it is free - after the third time, a donation of between $1-$5 is suggested. There is a jar on the wine table.
Theresa, I hope you can attend! I should have something very interesting to show you! Regine, I will miss you!

Is there a fee for this activity since I am not a University Club member and their website does not have this activity listed? Also what can we expect to pay for the cost of the coffee, tea, and hor d'oeuvres please? This looks like a wonderful program!! Thank you.
