CleanWeb South Bay! IoT for Resource Management with Plug n Play Tech Center
After many months of asking, we're kicking off our expansion to the South Bay by Partnering with the Silicon Valley Clean Energy Meetup and the Plug and Play Tech Center on a tech showcase on IoT for energy an resource management. Just like in SF, there will be food and two great talks. Our first startup: Keewi Inc - Keewi is a new plug load energy management solution that provides users with the tools needed to conserve energy while maintaining normal operations. With smart plugs and outlets, Keewi allows for real-time energy monitoring, insight into peak demand times, and provides simple solutions for improvement. As a team of data and tech-driven engineers, with backgrounds in Amazon, Genentech, and NASA, Keewi was designed to integrate effortlessly into any building, office, or school. Startup #2: TBD We've got calls out to a few startups, but haven't confirmed yet. Do you know a startup building awesome tech using IoT for resource management? If so, let us know.

What we're about

Cleanweb is about applying tech solutions to resource problems-- in energy, water, waste, transit, food, air, illegal fishing/poaching/whaling and other areas-- by taking advantage of the powerful trends in cheap computing power, mobility, data availability, and social graphs.

Anyone active in technology, design, entrepreneurship, investment, and/or resource issues should join!
Are you:
• Building cool tech and looking for investment, partners, or customers?
• Interested in working for a company that is doing the above?
• Looking to put money into startups in the trillion dollar resource category?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you should join this meetup.

Monthly meetups will be 90 - 120 minutes in length (plus informal socializing time afterwards) showcasing interesting technology approaches to solve specific resource issues. We'll have 1 - 2 presenters showcasing what they've built, measured or expected results, and where they are going with the technology.

Our primary monthly meetups will be held in either Oakland/Berkeley or in San Francisco.

Right now, we are aiming for the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month for our primary meetup with some flexibility moving to the 3rd Wednesday if need be.

We have seen extreme reductions in cost for computing, for storage, for electricity production from solar and wind, and we have also seen extreme weather events likely linked to climate change, and intense opposition from politicians and the fossil fuel industry. There is no more important time than now to be in this industry.
