What we're about

Welcome to our walking group!

In light of the covid-19 pandemic we want to remind everyone of part of your Meetup agreement:

"You acknowledge that some Meetup events carry inherent dangers, such as the risk of illness, bodily injury, disability, or death. By participating in these events, you understand and agree that you have freely chosen to assume these risks."

Now, with that out of way, we are a very friendly and social group that encourages general fitness and active living in the Clear Lake area. We offer walks that will interest all levels of walkers from beginners to advanced. We often break bread together so it’s a good thing that we work out first!

Explore and share your favorite areas in the Clear Lake and surrounding areas! If existing walks are not meeting your needs, become an Event Organizer! We are seeking people to be Event Organizers to host one-time or recurring events of different levels and locations. It would be great to have some mommy walks, dog walks, and marathon training walks on the calendar!

If you want to motivate yourself to walk regularly, the best way is to commit to hosting a regular walk. Recurring events can be posted daily, weekly, monthly, or sporadically. You will attract regular walkers to your events and get to know some really great people. Check out our calendar!

The fitness level required will be indicated on each walk by noting the walk rating, terrain, distance, and time plus some walks will allow people to walk at their own pace. Dog and/or stroller friendly walks will be indicated on the walk posting.

Kemah Sunrise Walk

Needs a location

Walk around Kemah in the early morning when it is nice and peaceful! The plan is to walk along the boardwalk in the beauty of twilight, make it to the bay in time for the sunrise at 6:22. We can decide at that point to be done, or continue through the residential area and return for coffee at The Art of Coffee, which opens at 7:00.

The total walk will be 3 miles, unless we decide to walk more after the sunrise. I typically walk a pace of 18 minute miles, but we can stop and enjoy the views along the way.

The following link will show you the route: Kemah Sunrise

My cellphone is[masked], let me know if you are running late so I can wait for you.

Nassau Bay Walk and Coffee

Needs a location

We're going to walk some of Nassau Bay and through the Peninsula Wildlife Park, looping back to the starting point... where we plan on getting coffee at The Java Owl. Walk will be about 5.5 miles with a mix of road surfaces and trails.

We typically walk a pretty quick pace (18-20 minute miles).

Please let one of us know if you are running late. Daniel:[masked] or Brent:[masked].

Please Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Peninsula Park.

3 mile walk at Frankie Carter Park, then coffee at Dunn Brothers

Needs a location

Let's walk a few short miles at Frankie Carter Randolph Park. We walk 3 miles in one hour, then head to Dunn Brothers for coffee and chatting. Join us! :-)

South Shore Harbor Marina Walk

Needs a location

Walk along the piers of South Shore Harbor Marina. Continue to some residential areas across from the Lighthouse and return to the marina. Walk will be 3.5 miles. We will meet in the parking lot of Opus Bistro & Steakhouse (not Ocean Grill) near Pier 12 of the marina.

We typically walk a pretty quick pace and finish the walk in about an hour (18-20 minute miles).

You can see the route here: South Shore Harbor Walk

Text or call Susan @[masked] or Brent @[masked] if you are running a little late. You can catch up with us on the way back from the first loop around the marina.
