What we're about

Welcome to the Climate Reality Project - Charlotte, NC Chapter! We are glad you're here!

OUR MISSION

At The Climate Reality Project, our mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society. We do this through digital and grassroots campaigns and training programs that create and educate a community of climate activists around the world who are working to accelerate climate solutions.

OUR PROGRAMS

Climate Reality Leadership Corps training events equip citizens around the world with the skills and knowledge to be effective activists in their own communities. The Climate Speakers Network program hosts smaller, hyper-local trainings that focus on peer-to-peer communication as a means of spreading the truth about the climate crisis. Campus Corps helps students organize for change on their university or college campuses. Our 100% Committed campaign is working to get institutions, businesses, and communities to commit to using 100 percent renewable electricity. And we support on-the-ground advocacy efforts like the 2017 Peoples Climate March and US federal campaigns to promote pro-climate policies.

OUR CHAPTERS

Chapters are the product of Climate Reality’s efforts to find powerful new ways to support the local actions of its volunteers and supporters. Under the current US administration, efforts at the federal level have stalled, or even gone backwards in many cases. In response, local initiatives and campaigns like those run by Climate Reality Chapters have stepped up to lead the way forward toward a healthier and more sustainable future.

Chapters are organizing their own local climate action campaigns, engaging in efforts to build activism and outreach skills, and joining up with official Climate Reality campaigns like 100% Committed to make a real difference in communities across the US. Many of our branches in countries outside of the US also have regional programs to support the local efforts of Climate Reality Leaders living outside the US.

OUR GOALS

• We must solve the climate crisis: We have a moral obligation to ourselves and future generations to stop the crisis devastating our planet.
• We can solve the climate crisis: We have the affordable clean energy technologies to power our economy and end the crisis in our hands today.
• We will solve the climate crisis: With millions of citizens standing up to force our leaders to act, we will solve the crisis together.
