Leisurely Hike at Round Valley with a Snack at Gronsky's Milk House

Let's take a stroll at Round Valley!

We'll do the Water Trail, following the shoreline, with great views of New Jersey's deepest body of water. Meeting at the boat launch, we'll hike to the south parking lot and turn around, about three miles total. Although this is a fairly easy hike, boots with good ankle support are recommended. The trail has been cleared of most of the debris from the storm.

Afterwards we can get ice cream or a snack at Gronsky's Milk House in High Bridge.

Since this is early March, bad weather will cancel.

The boat launch is located off of Round Valley Road. From 22, take Round Valley Road to the first left, and then a quick right into the boat launch parking lot.

See you there!

What a beautiful day for a hike. The water pictures taken were great! It was a fun morning that started off with a hike, breakfast and ended with a geocache adventure. Couldn't ask for more. I also want to say thanks for your patience with LuLu she needs the socialization skills she will get better.

Thanks guys!!! Great place to hike and perfect weather! Nice meeting you all :) Great breakfast too. Thanks for the extended geo cache adventure Christine!

That was fun. A leisurely stroll with great weather, scenery and company! And thanks for being up for a little more adventure. The missing geocache was very disappointing and the second was a bit obvious due to the time of year, but it was fun introducing the "sport" to the group. I think it would make a good meetup activity. Thanks again everyone!

What a totally awesome day! Couldn't have asked for nicer weather, or a nicer group of people to go hiking with. Thanks so much to Sharon and Mark for putting this together. I'll post pics later.

Wow, it sounds like so many were missing! Well, I did actually make it, but I came a different way (GPS took me to Molasses Hill Road) and taking a guess I made a right. After turning around going to the beach and then finding the boat launch I was too late. Sorry! I walked for an hour anyway - it's beautiful there! Next time I will know my route and be there on time. I will meet all of you some day soon!!

Bill, The hike is about 3 miles of uneven terrain, sometimes rocky, with a few minor inclines.

Thanks Sharon, probably a bit too much for him these days. See you Saturday!

It says that the hike is along the Water Trail, but I can't find anything about that trail. Is it the same as the Cushetunk Trail?

      Hi Bill,
The water trail is an unmarked but widely used trail that hugs the shoreline from the boat launch to the south parking lot. I was on Cushetunk today for a few miles, it is a marked, more rugged trail. They are working to clear it of storm debris so it is still closed. Hope to see you Saturday!

Hi all! Is it okay if I bring my 15-yr-old son? He's not new at hiking, and I'm sure he'll enjoy it.
