230 S. Broad Street - 17th Floor, Philadelphia, PA
Please RSVP for this meetup at the Philly Lambda meetup, not Clojadelphia:
Clojure.spec is Rich Hickey's latest inspiration: it's a new system for describing and validating functions (and the data that flows through them) in a dynamic language that resolutely refuses to embrace strict typing. As he has done frequently in the past, Rich gathers together a bunch of previous efforts in an area, stitches them together in an unexpected way, adds 10% new, deep insight, and produces something that has the potential to change the way we design out systems.
Please join us for our next meetup, where Cliff Rodgers of Bendyworks will be giving us an overview of clojure.spec, through the lens of having used it in a real world project. In this presentation, he'll be discussing:
• Should I be interested even if I don't use Clojure? (Yes!)
• What is a spec, anyway?
• How to create specs, and how to compose them
• Testing with spec generators and creating custom generators
• Getting useful error messages from spec validation
• Current sharp edges of spec library
This event is co-hosted by Philly Lambda and Clojadelphia. Please RSVP at the Philly Lambda meetup if you plan to attend.
