June 2011 - Speaker Chaz Emerick - "Anatomy of a Clojure Tools Business";

Talk - Chaz Emerick

- the motivations for building the service (including a survey of existing Clojure documentation and autodidactic resources)

- an overview of how the Atlas is architected — both the "back end" where the Clojure language ontology is generated as well as the front end visualization

- the processes used for build and deployment

- how site services like authentication, account management, and payment processing are handled

I can understand that this might not be a desirable talk — maybe people want only pure-tech, pure-Clojure content, where there's a nontrivial Javascript component involved here? — but it might serve as a useful primer on web app development, authentication in Clojure, nonrelational databases and using AWS (the site uses Amazon's SimpleDB and Elastic Beanstalk services, with much joy), and so on.
