*IMPORTANT UPDATE* due to the COVID-19 situation, we decided to convert this meetup into an online-only meetup. The meetup is *not cancelled*. We will *not* meet in person, but we will **meet digitally** via zoom. A link to the zoom meeting is provided on April 1st. The time will stay the same. Everbody is free to join the meeting starting at ~18:00. The talk will start at around 18:30 and take roughly one hour. Hope to see you there. Stay healthy and don't forget to wash your hands.
Hey folks, we had a lot of fun with our first cloud natives meetup and we would like to announce the second meetup. This time, Lukasz Sowa from main.dev will give an introduction to Kubernetes. The date is April 1st and no, it is not a joke ;)
Kubernetes started as a container orchestration system called Borg at Google. Since it was open-sourced, it got adopted by almost every cloud provider out there - Google of course, but also AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean, IBM, SAP, … And also bare-metal offerings like OpenShift from Redhat are based on Kubernetes. But what is it actually about? How can it support your everyday work from a Developer and from Operations perspective? How do you set it up? Lukasz is trying to answer all these questions in this talk.
The meetup will be hosted by the fine people of Marmalade. There will be free drinks and snacks for everyone. Please RSVP so we know how much to order.
Doors open around 18:00 and the talk will start at 18:30. You can find the nice Marmalade office - breathtaking view included - marmalade GmbH at Otto-von-Guericke-Str. 87a (attention, not in 86a like it was last time)
See you there!
