DevSecOps - How we envision it.
Netspend operates in a highly regulated industry. As the solutions architect I first broached the idea of that security isn’t something that we should think about independently with a gatekeeping role, and instead we should view security through the lense of devops with the practitioners functioning as guard rails.
Michael is currently a DevOps solutions architect that provides technical leadership to a fledgling devops team that will ultimately be the change agent, and sme organization providing services to the developer community at Netspend.
Data Ingestion Using Total AWS Serverless Architecture for Optimal Cost Savings
I needed to convince my CEO, CTO and COO that AWS was worth another try after the company had a bitter experience with it. The Previous CEO ran up huge cost by treating AWS as if it was another on premise location with no test coverage and test environments. This method incurred huge costs not only in AWS but in human costs to maintain the buggy implementations. I needed to show the C Level the proper way to cloud. I chose pure AWS serverless implementation for minimum costs.
The costs are very minimum. I was able to show the costs would be under $20 a month. This was a big eye opener in cost savings to the C levels that were use to $100k+ a month in AWS costs.
Jeremy is a hands-on technical DevOps Manager at FATHOM. He had worked previously at Samsung and Bazaarvoice.
