Would be interesting to build some Steam Punk costumes using computer designs augmented by other embellishments. After retirement, I also worked in the Viking Sewing Gallery inside JoAnn's Castleton for three or four yrs. There I learned computerized machine embroidery and bought two machines. I also own 3 (two, very antique) embellishment machines, chain stitchers and a "braider," that allows me to apply various braid--soutache--and sequin schlung, among other machines. Have wonderful Steam Punk embroidery computer designs.
I've designed for the Goodman Professional company, Goodman Summer Childrens Theatre, Univ. of Chicago Summer Court Theatre, Dance Kaleidoscope, Indianapolis Opera, Butler Ballet, and individuals. Since the mid 70's I was p.t. Costume Designer and Consultant for Landes Costume Co., and later, after retirement from Butler, full-time for Landes Costumes by Rachel. I designed and mostly built several prize winning costumes for the Landes.
dunno--need to know more . . . .
I'm a Costume designer and builder. I taught costume history, design and construction for 29 yrs. in the Theatre Dept. at Butler U. Degrees: BA in Theatre from Butler and an MFA in Costume Design from the Goodman School of Drama, in Chicago.
