Tech Talk: Data Driven Engineering
at the offices of:
< Summary >
Intent Media will be opening their doors to the NYC engineering community for an evening of conversation around software engineering in a big data environment, machine learning and predictive modeling.
The evening will begin with a brief 15 minute technical presentation, followed by a Q&A session.
Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
Intent Media’s engineering and data team applies predictive models to analyze hundreds of millions of e-commerce consumer behavior data points and predict consumer intent. To meet this challenge, we’ve built our data infrastructure from the ground up to help us deal with the huge amount of data that we process on a daily basis. This talk will give a brief overview of the history of the system that we’ve built, the technologies that it’s built on, and where we’re planning on taking things in the future.

Intent Media is shaking up the ecommerce industry with a big idea: enabling e-commerce publishers to monetize the 97% of visitors who aren’t buying on their sites. Their technology analyzes hundreds of millions of data points, leveraging sophisticated predictive models, to determine consumer intent in real time during search/shop online. This allows them to choose among types of content as well as the form of content to deliver incredibly relevant offers during the search/shop process, in a way that maximizes revenue for their customers. Some of the world’s largest retailers use their platform to dramatically increase e-commerce ROI.
Intent Media was founded by executives with a successful startup track record and is backed by Matrix Partners and Redpoint Ventures, two of the top VC firms in the country.
