Co-Founders Wanted Austin Meetup

Please joins us for our summer co-founders wanted meetup!

This meetup is at a new location:

Capital Factory
701 Brazos Street, 16th floor, Austin, TX

Format: 10 speaking slots available (3 minutes each) for startups looking for co-founders or looking to hire developers/designers.

Pitching in our Meetup also let's you "practice" your pitch and get feedback from other startups and investors, always a good thing!

If you are one of the startups that are going to pitch, please send the organizer your pitch deck (PowerPoint format) by email which should not be longer than 4 slides, remember that you'll only have about 3 minutes to present.

If you are a software developer or UX/UI designer or developer interested in joining a cool startup, you can attend for FREE. Just e-mail the organizer with a link to your LinkedIn profile or other evidence of your technical skills.

If you are a consultant looking to sell some services to young startups, you are in the wrong place.

Some very cool ideas. Good, central, location. Good vibe and energy. Looking forward to next one.

Technical difficulties aside, I thought most presenters were very informative and reasonably well prepared for this meetup. While there were a few presenters who didn't know what to say or who rambled on pointlessly; over all, I liked the atmosphere and would highly recommend this meetup to others.

Some presenters need to better appreciate the importance of preparation in a sales pitch. Not all Founders or CEOs are best candidates for such sales pitches. Presentations with case studies and market demographics were most appealing. I'm less interested in how fun your office is than learning about your business plan.

The presentations were not very well polished. These presenters should have had a lot more practice before giving their pitches. I would recommend they be required to review before participation, and/or have tech checks and practice run-throughs before the event next time.

Also, the technical difficulties of the setup (projector being desk-bound, speakers keeping the presenter in front of the projecctor screen, poor use of the laptop remote, bad microphone, etc) were all huge distractions that really hampered the event.

The bright spot was actually the mingling/networking at the end. That was very valuable to a lot of us.

Everything ran fairly smooth and the atmosphere was to die for! I even got a chance to pitch my idea! Definitely making it out to the next one.
