What we're about
About Coastside Walking for Health Meet-ups:
We are a "locals" group for people who live near the ocean of San Mateo County who take walks primarily in this area.
If you live some distance from our area, allow extra time to get here. We are a beach community and during summer the traffic on weekends can be difficult as people from inland areas travel to our beaches.
Our walks are for approximately 2 hours for about 4 to 6 miles. Sometimes a portion of the group, may choose to eat together after the hike, if there is a restaurant nearby, but that is optional.
Obedient dogs on leash are allowed. County law requires that all dogs be on leash wherever they are in public. Some of our walks go onto beaches and into forests that prohibit dogs entirely.
You are responsible for any health issues you may have. If you have health issues, please confidentially inform the hike leader, carry water and carry your medications with instructions for usage.
By joining this group, you are agreeing that the organizers and hikers are not liable for any mishaps, falls, injury or even death that might happen to you during the hike or during carpooling. There no fees for these hikes, and the group is composed of happy hikers that assume no liability for one another.
When you join us for any event, your participation will signify and acknowledge that you RELEASE this group's organizers, hosts and participants from any liability or claims, that you may have for injuries, damages, death and/or economic loss of any kind, arising in whole or in part out of the activities or information on our website.
If you attend regularly, I would appreciate a contribution to my expense of maintaining a meet up site, which is about $120 a year. Otherwise, events are generally free.
