Details

Hey everybody! Doors open at 6pm and the event will start at 6:30. HU's doors are locked at 7pm, so try to arrive early. We're also using Harrisburg University's dedicated doors -- keep reading for detailed directions on how to find them.

About the event:
Want to get involved in Code for Philly? Don't know where to start? Join us for Code for Philly 101! Code for Philly welcomes civic hackers of all kinds - developers, designers, community partners, project managers/owners and anyone else who wants to dedicate their time to helping the local community through tech. You don't have to be an expert or seasoned technologist to participate! If you're interested in getting involved in any way, this event is for you!

In this brief (okay, hour and a half) session, we'll go over the basics of Code for Philly, civic hacking, and how to get involved in the community and in projects. Make sure to bring your computer because we're going to give you all the tools to get you started. You'll also have a chance to meet others in the community!

Please be aware:
- This event will start promptly at 6:30pm - if you're running late, just come on in and grab a seat!
- The building's doors will be locked past 7pm, we won't be stationing anyone there to let people in who arrive later than that
- Given limited seating, if you've already attended a 101 session, we kindly ask you let other new community members attend. Remember, you can always reach out to the CfP leadership team with questions or ways to get involved.
- We're going to use Harrisburg University's dedicated entrance doors tonight. They're easier to access but harder to find - they're not marked. Look for them on the east side of 16th St. between Spring Garden St. and Hamilton St. The pin on the Google Maps snapshot above is accurate. Someone should be there to let you in.
