Brigade Congress 2022

Network event

Needs a location

Code for America and the Brigade Network proudly invite you to the 6th annual Brigade Congress! This hybrid event will occur online and in person in St. Louis, MO, from October 14-16, 2022.

What is Brigade Congress?
Brigade Congress is the primary convening centered around the Code for America Network - bringing together Brigade volunteers and leaders, government and community partners, and civic tech professionals. Together, we share our collective vision of what's next for our movement and learn the skills we need to level up our civic hacking communities.
We have planned training sessions, collective action activities, speakers, unconference sessions, lightning talks, participatory governance, and more.

Come ready to share your stories on what has worked and hasn't and how we can apply those lessons to future wins. We'll tackle how to prevent burnout, how to solve complex problems, and how to overcome the challenges you're facing on the ground.

But beyond that, we'll come together around our shared values and learn how volunteers like you work for change.

Check our website for lots of information. You can also see the schedule and join the conversations on Discourse.

Collective Action for Broadband Equity [Virtual Activity]

Network event

At Brigade Congress, we will have a dedicated virtual-first action track—similar to National Day of Civic Hacking—on broadband access.

Access to fast, reliable internet means access to education, jobs, services, and democratic participation. Join Code for America and KC Digital Drive on Saturday, October 15th at 3pm ET/2pm CT to:

  • Gather high-quality evidence that state broadband offices can use to challenge the FCC broadband maps and ensure that no community is denied the opportunity to benefit from upgraded infrastructure.
  • Construct a rich database of information about broadband availability and pricing for communities across the United States, allowing for analysis that could inform efforts to uncover instances of price discrimination, digital redlining, and other practices of concern.

All civic technologists, advocates, and organizers are welcome!
