4th Coder Dojo Zurich

  • Apr 6, 2014 · 2:00 PM

Young coders are welcome to carry on with projects and programs that they started last week. Or if they want to try something different for a change, then that's fine, too.

The more advanced programmers will get together and start on a website for Coder Dojo Zurich.

Children should bring a snack and drink, their own laptop with a keyboard they can 'read' (i.e. the keys correspond to what appears on screen) and preferably a  mouse that they can operate. Children 12 years and under should be accompanied by a parent or other enthusiastic adult (who is also encouraged to bring his or her laptop and play, too.)

A calm Dojo with very motivated, concentrated children who did a variety of quite impressive things. High point was Meret showing Benjamin how to connect his scratch game to makeymakey.com. Their frantic handling of the 'controls' drawing in an intrigued audience.

That sounds interesting, jsdares. Very good idea. Is it ok for all children or only the advanced?

It's not very advanced, for the very beginners we can stay with scratch, lightbot and for the rest we can try this jsdares and rubywarrior.
