What we're about

This group - a combo of a book club/support group - is for those who have left any faith. Meeting with like minded people, this is a chance for us to continue to foster the curiosity that made us question our beliefs in the first place. The goal is threefold: 1) to continue to discuss the big important questions, now through a non-religious lens; 2) to help support those who might be facing backlash for their changing beliefs; 3) to find out how our unique position in the world can be used to its greatest potential!

This is open to people with any religious background and at any stage in their "de-conversion."

I'll be posting periodic reminders of the drive throughout the summer! ___________ "My 6 year old son and I are doing a summer project! We want to help the teenagers that have aged out of the foster care system and wanted to include everyone in our adventure! Religious organizations, humanists, mommy play date groups, the atheist community and plain amazing good-hearted people are welcome to partner up with us! We are seeking the basics like deodorant, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads. Coffee + Discussion: Marriage, divorced from god.

UWM Student Union

Those who have left religion have a myriad of different experiences; sometimes, those experiences left behind leave us worse for wear. We probably all have a lot of stories, so this is our chance to share them. Whether we just need to laugh, process difficult situations , or are seeking layman's advice, we will break into smaller groups so that everyone has a chance to share. If anything is pressing, or issues are really at a critical moment, please check out the 24/7 hotline from RECOVERING FROM RELIGION:[masked]. Topic: People can love and want to share a life with another without religious institutions dictating the terms. What does a secular marriage look like. What topics should those entering into a marriage ask themselves before making it official? Should we even have marriage? Come and join in the discussion, ask questions and share knowledge. We'll be in the UWM Union sitting in the Terrace on the (G) Street level (See map for specifics) : street parking will be free (parking on Prospect, Farwell, Hartford, Maryland, etc. will get you close.
