What a GREAT WAY to end your FRIDAY !!
Awesome People !! AND AMAZING STORIES !!
This meetup will be the 1st & 3rd Fridays of every month ...
Ed Owen is helping to run this meeting. He will be the first member there with the sign in sheet! Feel free to give him a call if you can't find the building or the conference room we will be using.
PLEASE NOTE THE NEW TIME: As of June 15, 2012, this group will meet at 6:30 PM. Everything else will stay the same.
INFO: The entrance is on the west side of the building, second set of doors from the south end. The door is marked "Utica Executive Suites" (we will have a CHWG sign on the door) and will be unlocked. Take the elevator or stairs to the second floor. Go through the rosewood doors and take the left hallway. The conference room is #220 and it is on the left. If the wood doors are locked, dial #005 on the call box (to the right of the wood doors) and we will buzz you in. If you have any problems, call my cell phone (909-510-9989). We have the use of a small kitchen area with a fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. If anyone wants coffee, let me know and I will make it ahead of time. We can bring food and drinks, but we have to clean up when we are done (yes, this is a no brainer but it must be said :). There is also a flat screen TV with a VCR/DVD player and computer hookup if anyone has something they wish to share. We are getting the use of the room for free (there is normally a $35/hr. charge) and it is very nice, so we must take care to leave it the way we found it. Please feel free to bring a friend. We have plenty of room so don't be shy.
I'm Christine Marie, the founder of Coffee House Writer's Group, welcome! Please feel free to bring something to eat just for yourself or to share ! Meeting will start at 5:30pm. There will be a sign up sheet if you wish to share. We read in the order of the sign up sheet.
There is no time limit on reading. We just ask that you watch your time and be respectful of other writers wanting to read. If there are more members attending, the time reading might be shorter then if there are fewer members attending. Everyone is encourage to read & join in with the feedback. Please just take home with you the feedback that works for you and leave what doesn't at the table. The feedback and critiques should never prompt debates, this is not about "right verses wrong," just about simple advice that the writer can choose to accept or not. Everyone here in the group is here to help you grow as a writer and inspire you to write!
We like to think of our group as a PG13 group, (maybe borderline rated R). Anything considered above rated X material, you are more then welcome to bring copies to see if other members wouldn't mind reading it to themselves. We do not read rated X material out loud as we are in a public place. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
This Writer's Group is committed to motivating aspiring writers. Together, we provide the encouragement and inspiration needed to finish those writing projects that are collecting dust on the shelf. In the meetings we share our works and give positive influence & direction to each other, so that we all can find what is needed within ourselves to complete our writing goals.
Can't wait to see you and hear your stories!
