How to Break Into Hollywood Without Selling Your Soul
Pomona Native Sharif Shakhshir talks briefly about the typical way to break into Hollywood that you can hear anywhere to develop a foundation. He then talks about the way he actually broke in as an animation writer, warning signs, and how to avoid awful people and scams.
Sharif Shakhshir is an animation writer and Pomona native who has just
broken in on his first professional writing job for a company devoted to
diversity. The show is in production now and should be broadcasting in
2020. In addition to TV, Sharif is a published fiction writer and poet
whose works involve social justice themes, loneliness, and
disproportionately unicorns and dogs in space. He is a graduate of Mt.
SAC, UC, Irvine, and USC's Master's of Professional Writing program.
He's continuing his education at Mt. SAC and The Animation Guild where
he's studying animation, drawing, and digital art.
