Free Meetup - Happy to announce we have booked a speaker so we are able to get together again!
First up is an introduction to Bayesian modelling. The plan is to do a simple/high-level intro, that leaves open the option of giving more focused talks in the future if people are interested.
Session One: "Getting Started with Stan. Fitting and visualising Bayesian models" - Alasdair Clarke from the University of Essex Department of Psychology https://www.essex.ac.uk/people/clark28201/alasdair-clarke
Session Two: "Intro to messaging with Telegram" - Bob Komara - A workshop on how to use R to send modeling progress messages, plots, and even whole markdown reports to your phone with Telegram. This is helpful when running time consuming models, especially on remote servers or the cloud. It's very satisfying to get a message that your model has run successfully when sipping tea away from your desk. Install and register for an account before the meetup if you want to follow along: https://telegram.org/.
Please get back to us if the second talk is interesting to you!
Like always, hopefully we can see you there!
