This is the classic horror RPG and we'll be playing a fairly traditional Call of Cthulu adventures using 6th Edition. It'll be set in the 1920s or 1930s and I will do my best to capture the feel of the game.

Yes, very good adventure. Everyone did excellently and I think we hit our marks on both Cthulu adventure archetypes: the horrific mystery and the doomed expedition.

I had great fun and felt this was truly a classic Cthulu gaming session, complete with visions of a doomed future and a lost alien world!

A wonderful and scary adventure! I was thrilled that Mac and Lizzy had the opportunity for such poetic and appropriate deaths ... I'm still smiling about that! It was a fabulous band of adventurers with lots of fun roleplaying.

Kirk, if you need one of us to be another character type with such a small party, I'm willing to create another. I have, for instance, a soldier idea. I'm quite open to whatever you need. Heck, I'm even willing to play two characters. :)

We'll wing it tonight and see what works but a smaller group means I can be more ambitious with the adventure in scope. :)

Kirk, I sincerely hope you feel better! Partially because I don't want you to suffer, and more selfishly because I REALLY want to play again before I head to Arizona! ;)

I am feeling worlds better today - so definitely on for Friday. :)

Understandable. I have a cold which I am hoping goes away but will make a decision Thursday if we're on Friday or not. I hope so and that is my plan. Lots of OJ and happy thoughts is my current plan for recovery. :)

Had something come up suddenly and can't make it this Friday. Have fun and see you all soon!

Rosemary Prendall, a photographer who has been hired to record the expedition and whatever is found on the mysterious island. She is a city girl with no background in adventure who has had difficulty breaking into the snobbish and highly competitive world of social photography. She is a skilled photographer but she lacks connections and social standing. Rosemary has decided to branch out into field photography with the hopes of getting a photo that will capture the public imagination and launch her career. She is short and homely by appearance, wears sensible shoes, has a hat covered with mosquito netting, and carries a big bag filled with something for every eventuality (flashlight, bandages, splint, iodine-based water purification solution, beef jerky, etc.)

Karen, I just wanted to say that I love your character backgrounds and the way you really delve into your characters in session. You inspire me!

I'm thinking of playing a novelist. She's been suffering from writer's block, and is hoping that a change of scenery will inspire her. She typically writes pulp fiction. Action adventure stories, to be exact. She got bored with her last hero (Jack Taylor) and killed him off in her last book. Its been over a year now, and she has not yet been inspired to create a new hero. Her savings are running low. If this trip does not inspire her, she will have to take a typing job, because it is costing her the last of her savings. Her name is Lizzy Banes, and she writes as L. Banes, because women are not yet well accepted in her genre. Lizzy is tall, far too slender for her frame, and vaguely resembles Kathryn Hepburn. Like Kate, she balks at typical female roles and attire, generally wearing slacks and a sweater, with comfortable shoes. She hangs out with philosophers and artists, and it is suspected that perhaps she does not care for men.

This adventure will be decidedly different from the last one. This one will be an expedition to a mysterious island. Some character possibilities include the wealthy patron of the expedition, the old professor, one of their daughters or wife/fiancee/etc., soldier, journalist, doctor, sailor, really just about anything that would fit in the scenario. Thus you need to come up with two things - a name and a concept. The sooner I have them the easier it will be for me, but this one should be as specific clue focused as the last.
