This is possibly the hugest and most interesting Rummage Sale in Northern California! 2 days: March 4 and 5, '17
The White Elephant Sale is Northern California’s biggest and best rummage sale. The Sale takes place in a 96,000-square-foot warehouse site at 333 Lancaster Street, near the Oakland Estuary. http://whiteelephantsale.org/shop/white-elephant-sale-and-preview/
NOTE: It is Not held at Oakland Museum. It's in east Oakland at 333 Lancaster, at their warehouse.
**NOTE: ON SUNDAY, MOST STUFF GETS MARKED 1/2 OFF.**
Yes, i recommend getting there at 8:00 AM, or earlier if you really want the good stuff. Bring a folding chair and sit in line. Some people seem to CAMP out over night. No kidding.
PLEASE TAKE BART TO FRUITVALE. IF YOU DRIVE, YOU WILL PROBABLY END UP PARKING AT FRUITVALE BART ANYWAY AND TAKING THE SHUTTLE! THERE IS NO PARKING ANYWHERE AROUND THE WAREHOUSE AFTER ABOUT 8:00 AM.
****On Sale days, parking is limited and shoppers are urged to carpool or take public transportation. A free shuttle provides transportation to and from the Fruitvale BART station and the warehouse site. The shuttle runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sale days.
Shoppers can pay for their White Elephant purchases using cash, checks with identification, debit cards and Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. American Express cards are not accepted.ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Items are sold “as is” and returns or exchanges are not allowed. All purchases must be removed from the warehouse on Sale day, with the exception of furniture and pianos. These items need to be picked up within six days of Sale or they will be re-donated. Please no strollers, shopping carts, or backpacks in the warehouse. A secure Check Stand is available at the Lancaster Street entrance to check these items while shopping but space is limited. Sorry, no food or drinks allowed inside the warehouse.
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.The only animals permitted in the warehouse are service animals.

Organized and presented by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, the White Elephant Sale is made possible by donations from the public. In 2015, the Sale raised a record $2.15 million to benefit the Oakland Museum of California.

Parking and Shuttle
Parking is extremely limited in the neighborhood surrounding the warehouse. Please consider using the Fruitvale BART parking lot and taking our free shuttle to and from the Sale. The shuttle runs between the Fruitvale BART station and the warehouse site from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Parking in the Fruitvale BART garage is free on the weekend. Large items may be left at the exit of the Sale and picked up after retrieving your vehicle.
