This group is for anyone with a love of learning and an interest in learning about free events ranging from athletics to lectures to performances. The College of Charleston offers a wide range of opportunities. People of all ages are welcome.
The Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture at the College of Charleston will host its annual The Avery Family Reunion! The 2022 Avery Family Reunion hosted by Kris Kaylin is free and open to the public and will highlight local cuisine, art, artisans and business owners with a particular focus on Gullah Geechee culture. Guests can expect a wide variety food trucks and vendors in the Avery Family Reunion’s Culinary Village. Vendors from the Charleston area include sweetgrass basketmakers, health and wellness specialists, legal service providers, and more. Guests will also enjoy musical performances of R&B, Southern Soul, Funk and Gospel. We look forward to seeing you at The Avery Family Reunion!
