Bikrams 26 postures are always an adventure whether your first class or your 1000th.
The goal of Bikram Yoga is general health; Bikram Choudhury states that a heated studio helps deeper stretching and injury prevention, while reducing stress and tension. Bikram claims that his system stimulates, and restores health to, every muscle, joint, and organ of the body, while at the same time increasing circulation to all organs in the body.
Bikram Yoga sessions run for exactly 90 minutes and consist of a set series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Bikram Yoga is ideally practiced in a room heated to 105°F (≈ 40.6°C) with a humidity of 40%, and is the most popular form of hot yoga (a series of yoga poses done in a heated room).
If you will be attending hydrate...hydrate...hydrate during the day. Also like any exercise you should not eat heavy prior to working out.
If you have...bring a yoga matt, 2 towels and water. They also have to rent/purchase.
Showers are available for afterwards.
Please get there 10 to 15 minutes early to get a spot on the floor. It'll be tough to gather before the class so we will gather after the class and grab a bite to eat at Chez Thuy [masked]th St. Boulder)
