  • Balanced Teams -- The Secret Sauce, with the Team at Crafted

Join the Crafted Crew to hear about the secret sauce that makes or breaks the Balanced Team. In the past we have discussed the processes that our Balanced Teams use to quickly and iteratively ship validated products which let you own your product roadmap. We have also talked tactically about how we break cycles down into “Three-week Product Sprints”, a variation of the Google Ventures Design Sprint that is more sustainable across continuous iterations.

We know tools and tactics are only as valuable as the craftsmen/women that are using them. In this talk we will share perspectives from product managers, product designers, and engineers on what the best things are they get from each discipline. We will give guidance on how and when to best collaborate or divide and conquer. We will provide examples of micro-interactions that will make you and your teams better collaborators. And lastly, we will give advice on how to iteratively shift your organization’s working model to Balanced Teams!

Thank you to the Team at Crafted for leading this online event.

The second event in a Technical Learning Series from Colorado Product.

SaaS products today rely on many third-party systems, held together by APIs, and it is becoming more and more important that Product Managers understand the glue that is so central to many workflows. This event will walk through real-life examples of API uses by Product Managers in the Colorado Product Community, as well as an introduction to what APIs do, how they can be utilized, and their success and limitations. Understanding and utilizing APIs is an excellent skill for Product Managers to add to their technical tool belt.

This webinar will be a combination of a high-level technical overview and a panel session of Product Managers presenting specific examples of how they have used these technologies in their day-to-day role as Product Managers. Speakers include:

    Allegra Bishop: CirrusMD, Product Manager
James Heimbuck: Gitlab, Technical Product Manager
Jenny Wanger: Linux Foundation Public Health, Head of Implementer’s Forum
Matthew Brand: Four Winds Interactive, Product Manager

The Colorado Product Technical Learning Series is aimed at helping community members become more technical as Product Professionals. These events will equip you with the knowledge necessary to ask better technical questions, make better future-state and scaling-related decisions, identify areas for professional development, and start to be a more technical member of your team(s).

  • SQL/Python: Lightweight Uses for Product Managers (Technical Learning Series)

YOU MUST REGISTER AT THIS LINK: https://vmware.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Jwn-8EL2QDifhuElW-SW_Q
Colorado Product is kicking off a Technical Learning Series for Product Managers with its first event, “SQL/Python: Lightweight Uses for Product Managers.” Data-driven decision making often requires the ability to dive into data for which there are no existing reports or GUI-based applications to simplify aggregation, segmentation, filtering, and analysis. Product Managers who have the ability to get their hands dirty with handwritten queries and analytical processes have an advantage over those who are dependent on others to create reports on their behalf.

This webinar will be a combination of a high-level technical overview and a panel session of Product Managers presenting specific examples of how they have used these technologies in their day-to-day role as Product Managers. Speakers include:

    Brian Schiller, Software Engineer, Devetry
    Laura Fletcher, Product Manager, VMware
Brandon Bookatz, Director of Product, interviewstream
Matthew Burdumy, Sr. Product Manager Student Growth, Guild Education
Arthur May, SVP Product Management, Centered Solutions

The Colorado Product Technical Learning Series is aimed at helping community members become more technical as Product Professionals. These events will equip you with the knowledge necessary to ask better technical questions, make better future-state and scaling-related decisions, identify areas for professional development, and start to be a more technical member of your team(s).

  • Happy Hour at Homebot

    Homebot

Come join us for our Q1 2020 Happy Hour! Our wonderful hosts Homebot would love to show you all their space. A bit more info on our hosts below:

The US homeownership market is the largest asset class in the world at $30 trillion but is essentially an “unmanaged” asset that causes homeowners to leave billions of dollars on the table every year. At the same time, loan officers and real estate agents spent $20 billion a year on desperate attempts to maintain mindshare and loyalty with their past clients in hopes of gaining more repeat and referral business.

Homebot delivers a personalized report to homeowners that tracks home value, mortgages and market conditions, advice about when to buy or sell, when to refinance, when to drop mortgage insurance, how to save by strategically paying principal payments, and more. Homebot helps homeowners build wealth faster by making them feel empowered and confident about making smart home finance decisions. But the only way a homeowner can get Homebot is from their lender or real estate agent, and this is where we make magic happen. Homebot respects the existing relationships between homeowner, lender and real estate agent and becomes a machine for generating repeat and referral business while creating incredible loyalty by providing something their clients actually love to receive.

It’s definitely a game-changer and we are truly making an impact. Having launched in 2016, we're nearly 50 team members strong and expect to continue that growth in 2020. We moved into some pretty sweet new digs in July 2019, and would love to have you come join us for some good times.
