CoPVA Meeting

The topic for our next meeting will be -

Learn more about color correction and color grading for video.

Color correction and Color grading are essential skills in today’s post-production environment. Whether it it is matching cameras, or matching scenes, or creating a style or mood having basic color correcting skills will make your video look more professional.

At this meeting Tom Step will talk to us about the basic concepts of color correction, color theory, as well as demonstrating the color correction process.

TomStepColoristLogo Tom Step has been color-grading since 1990, when he stated working at the Tape House in NYC. He moved to Denver in 1996 and worked for WickerWorks, and in 1997 decided to return to the freelance market. He’s worked for a variety of post houses in US, Canada, South Africa, and Thailand, on projects ranging from commercials and music videos, to films and TV episodics. His company ColorLoft was aimed at providing high-end color-grading services to local and national clients. Due to changing market trends, and lack of local interest, the company closed in 2009. Currently Tom is a video IT professional at AXS TV in Denver. He still enjoys color-grading, and is available for consults and freelance work. He is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, with a BFA in Film/TV
