Enjoy this Fall with apple and pumpkin picking at Happy Apple Farm. This should be a fun event. And if you have kids this would be a great time to pick apples right off the tree. Admission and tractor rides are free. Fresh pressed Apple Cider (No preservatives added) is available for purchase at the Country Store. More info and directions:
http://happyapplefarm... About Ferrara's Happy Apple Farm: Welcome to Ferrara's Happy Apple Farm! One of Colorado's largest and most diversified pick-your-own fruit farms with 14 varieties of Apples,thorn-less Blackberries,Raspberries,Pumpkins,Pears, fresh pressed Apple Cider (check what will be in picking season on the website above). We are a family owned and operated business located in Southern Colorado in the small town of Penrose, just minutes away from Colorado Springs and only an hour and a half from Denver. Also available in the Country Store (not sure of ingredients in the pies?): Apple Pie, Blackberry Cobbler, great Jams and Jellies. DETAILS:
* Meeting time is 10:30 AM to avoid the crowds. We will meet at the Country Store and maybe grab an Apple Cider for those interested. If a little later works better for you feel free to meet up with the group then. Just note if you do decide this option the group may be in different areas of the farm so maybe harder to find.
* Carpool: Carpool may be an option if I have volunteers for drivers. Please list in RSVP comments if interested in "Driving" or "Carpooling"
* Bring a sack lunch if interested in eating more than apples, pies etc. as I do not know what other food options will be at the store.
* Location is about a 1/2 hour from Colorado Springs. Time may be further depending what area of Colorado Springs. An online mapping/directions site (like Mapquest) can get accurate time and distance. ** Note this event is in place of our monthly potluck for this month. See you there!

It would have been nice to have more fruit selection but I had a good time...met some new people, saw some I hadn't seen in a while. Also the May Tropical Insect Museum on the way home was neato!

A thirty minute wait time was too long for my two year old.
