This Edible and Medicinal Plants Event will fill up quickly so please read the information below carefully before you RSVP.

This is a special Wandering Monkeys Event that will be exploring the bounty of the Southern Colorado Rocky Mountains. Used as a part time home by many Native American tribes where the edible and medicinal plants provided both nutrition and medicine in a variety of ways.

We will be exploring the Montane Zone of the beautiful Catamount Trail starting at the base in Green Mountain Falls Colorado. We will be heading for "The Garden of Eden" where we will be identifying more than 30 edible and medicinal trees, bushes and flowers. We will discuss the many uses of each plant and how they would be prepared.

This is an introductory course and is not intended to provide medical advise or cure. We will be covering these plants from a historical stand point so as to bring awareness to the bounty in your own back yard. We hope to inspire those that attend to seek natural solutions to common issues.

Lead by master tour guide and Certified International Tour Manager, John Lewis Sanchez and Professional Outback Guide Rob Mathews. Both are well known for their wealth of historical information on Colorado. With a love of telling great stories, John will bring to life the wonderful world of natural medicine and edible plants used for survival. John and Rob will also be identifying and sharing information on the many dangerous plants here in the Front Range, some that can kill you within hours.

John has more than 12 years of experience and has made edible and medicinal treks across the Untied States, South America, England and Africa gathering a wealth of knowledge and respect for the plants of Mother Earth.

Rob has been a professional Outback Rock Climber and Outback tour guide in Colorado for more than 2 years and is well versed the flora and fauna of the Colorado Mountains. Basic and advanced survival skill at his core he will explain to you the balance between eating to survive and to thrive. Although a plant may be edible in quantity it can cause harm. Balance is the key to being able to thrive.

This Event requires a $20 Donation to the Wandering Monkeys Club to join as this more of a learning course than a tour. With years of preparation and a wealth of information to share this is simply a good faith donation in order to keep these types of special events coming in the future.

All monies, every penny will be donated back into Wandering Monkeys community outreach events. We believe we can help make our corner of the world a better place. Join us on a community event and see how we make a difference one monkey at a time.

Please RSVP if you want to attend. The Donation is a non-refundable donation to hold your spot. As a private club we rely upon donations to be able to sponsor special events. We also need to be able to separate the serious from the curious. This is a 4 hour event and if you are not sure you can attend please wait to RSVP.

This is a Wandering Monkeys members only event. With limited spots available we are not allowing non-members to join to give our actual members a better chance of attending. If you want to bring a friend, tell them to join the Colorado Wandering Monkeys. Simple.

Additional information will be updated as needed.

DO NOT PARK on Hondo. Plenty of spaces should be available on Lake St or near the lake in GMF.
