Anyone interested in just meeting up somewhere and shooting?

I'm off this week, anyone interested in meeting up and either doing a walkabout locally or for some night photography downtown let me know and we'll set something up.

Ahhh... night stuff isn't good for me. My day is skewed toward early. By 9pm I'm fast asleep. Early morning would be better. I normally fall out of bed at 4am and start driving schoolbusses at 5:45-5:55am. I see lots of dawns.

Starbucks at 1400 Main Street - nearest corner is Washington Street -- downtown Columbia.

Hi Sharon - I have tried the bridge at night with a couple of other club members and I don't remember anyone being particularly impressed with the shoot. We did do some experimenting with long exposure -- trailing headlights type of thing -- but other than that I don't recall much. There's the corner of the Gervais Street Bridge -- you get downtown, the bridge and street lights ... so that might be an alternative to the 9th Street Bridge.

I was thinking more along the lines of walking around downtown. The shop windows make for excellent still life studies; lighting is tough especially dealing with glass and reflection so there are a lot of challenges to be met. Also there's the State House, office buildings & Museum of Art on Main, & Five Points Anyone up for tonight? Just hitting Main Street and the surrounding area? Maybe a cuppa coffee? Sunset is around 5:30 pm w/not much a moon & overcast.

Great, Sharon, Freeman -- I'll see you at Starbucks tonight at 7pm. Suggest you bring a tripod if you intend to do long exposures.

Hey Bart - only 900 miles, you're getting closer. As for this weekend, I'm totally game. Just let me know where & when and I'll be there. I'm breaking out of my slump come hell or high water!

I want to join such events but what's happening right before will make me too late. Look forward to going another time though. Please post again later if possible.
