What we're about

Whether you're new to Columbus or a seasoned veteran, there are so many great things to do in our fair city! This group is geared toward anyone who loves food, culture, festivals, and having fun. Our group will be geared toward late 20s- to 40-somethings, but all ages are welcome.

In order to find you easily at Meetup events, you will need to have a clear facial headshot as a profile picture of you. :) This picture needs to be maintained on the site at all times.

You also need to have a "real name" posted--we want our members to get to know one another, so no "screen names" of the sort. If you want to protect your privacy, a first name or first name plus initial of your last name is sufficient.

Also, we have a "no show" policy, so please see the text below for more details.

Group membership size reflects members who have been active with the group within the past three to six months.

Building friendships is an important aspect of this group. Any suggestions for events will require an event host to be present and act as a point of contact prior to and throughout an event. We aren't in the practice of "spreading the word" on events, sorry. If you want to host the event, we are happy to help you with planning and going over host expectations. Additionally, businesses and individuals are not permitted to join and solicit their services. Anyone who does so will be removed from the group.

A lot of good friendships have come out of this group; as such, we ask that you honor your commitments to attending group events just as you would with any friend--keep your RSVPs current and don't cancel last-minute. (Also, for events with a table reservation, cancelations after the RSVP period closes are marked as "no shows" since we have held a spot for you at the table and now that spot is unfilled. Additionally this negatively impacts the restaurant and server's earnings for the evening since they were counting on your being there.) Also, we feel that regularly attending events is important to make connections with other group members to build those friendships, and you'll see that our group membership roster reflects members who have been active in the past three to six months.

We look forward to exploring Columbus with you!

No Show Policy:

Any member who is identified as having 3 "no-shows" at Columbus Food, Culture, and Fun! events will be removed from the group and any paid dues (if applicable) will be forfeited.

A "no show" is defined as RSVPing "yes" to an event and not showing up, without doing any of the following:

- updating your RSVP to "no" on the event page (via web or mobile app)

- not contacting the event organizer prior to the event via phone, text, email, etc. to indicate you are no longer able to attend

- showing up late such that it is disruptive to the event host to coordinate an attendee meeting up with the rest of the group

Our event organizers need to know who they are looking for, especially at large events, or if there are a limited number of seats available for an event. We ask that you be considerate of their time and efforts and simply send a quick message indicating when you are no longer able to attend, so that they can focus their energies toward the event and those who are able to attend.
