With an ever-increasing availability of public data, the need for cities to understand and leverage this information to solve their largest problems has never been greater. With challenges ranging from mobility to food scarcity, there is no question that the role of data in demystifying many of today’s urban complexities will only continue to grow. Using modern techniques in supervised learning, data scientists of any experience level have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within their community. This talk will cover everything from identifying ideal data candidates, to preprocessing and modeling.

Paul Linville is currently a Software Developer with Pillar Technology, working on the Smart Columbus project. He completed his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in Spring 2018, studying Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence.
