Movie title and showtime have been confirmed! For our June event, it's Kevin Costner's feel good movie about the Cleveland Browns: DRAFT DAY! Here's the plan, description and trailer below:
PLAN: Purchase your ticket for the 7:20pm showing and meet Terry inside the main lobby at 7:00pm. We'll head in early for what should be a fun show! Afterwards, be sure to join us next door at Thai Mango for our Traditional Tuesday conversation, food and drinks!
DESCRIPTION: On the day of the NFL Draft, a general manager has the opportunity to save football in Cleveland when he trades for the number one pick. He must quickly decide what he's willing to sacrifice in pursuit of perfection as the lines between his personal and professional life become blurred for him and a few hundred young men with dreams of playing in the NFL. Directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, Denis Leary, Ellen Burstyn, Frank Langelia and Chadwick Boseman!
The organizer of this event, the Movie Miser (aka Terry), has uncovered the cheapest movie ticket in Columbus and organizes a monthly event to take advantage of this entertainment bargain! Plan to bring one George Washington and one quarter on the third Tuesday each month for an evening movie at the Carriage Place Cinema 12. The cinema does not announce movie schedules until the prior week, so the exact movie title and showtime will be announced the week before the show. We will primarily be picking movies that were hits, well-reviewed or were featured as first run movies on a previous CMG event. This is your chance to see a hit movie on the big screen again or for the first time if you had scheduling conflicts with CMG’s original showing or something we missed the first time around. Either way, it's your chance to see a great movie before it leaves theaters entirely for the low, low price of just $1.25! That’s about how many coins the Movie Miser hoards under the seat cushions at his hovel.
The theater manager asked me to inform her of the group size which could influence which theater our movie is shown in, so I'll be watching the RSVP's closely. We are trying to establish some group package deals with the theater and group size influences what is offered.
We'll plan to see the film showing that starts around 7pm(ish). Afterwards, we'll usually head out for a bite, a drink, and some conversation! Film title, showtime, and post-movie activities will be announced by Thursday, the week before the event.
