Do you sew, knit, crochet, quilt, weave, felt or enjoy other crafts? Bring your yarn, fabric, portable sewing machine, small looms, or other supplies, or get a great deal on what you need from the ReCreative store. Let’s work on our projects together sharing good company, tips, and techniques.
ReCreative Denver is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting creativity, community and environmental stewardship through creative reuse & arts education. It collects donations of used materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill from local businesses and individuals to redistribute to our community. Proceeds from the resale of these goods help fund arts programming and supply free creative materials and workshops to the community.
I have a studio at ReCreative, overflowing with creative potential! I collect vintage fabrics, taught myself to sew, explore weaving using small looms and am currently passionate about rug making using a variety of techniques. For our first craft night I’ll be using vintage fabric scraps to make greeting cards. Please join us and bring a project you’re working on or want to get started. If you’re currently uninspired, I am happy to share the process I use to make vintage fabric cards and some supplies for anyone who wants to give it a try. Although this is not a class, I hope the environment will encourage connection and sharing!
We’ll meet on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30-9:30, come when you can, leave when you want to. The ReCreative store is open until 6 pm – if you arrive after 6 and want to and purchase supplies, please be prepared to pay with a credit card.
Bring a snack…. Beer and wine available for a suggested $5 donation.
