Community Meditation is non-profit network of meditation groups that offer free meditation instruction and free group meditation sittings weekly. We bring meditation and mindfulness into people’s lives through courses, meditation sittings and group discussions, both in-person and online. By sharing the benefits of mindfulness and awareness, we support the evolution of a wise, caring, and healthy world.
Our regular meditation and instruction times in Mississauga are: Sunday mornings at 10:15 and Tuesday evenings at 7:15. We also hold two online sittings a week -- see our website below.
We have groups in several cities including Hamilton, Kingston, Kitchener/Waterloo, Mississauga, and Owen Sound. Our network has existed for over a decade and was previously affiliated with the Shambhala organization.
Our roots are Buddhist, but we draw on many wisdom traditions as well as contemporary psychology and neuroscience. Community Meditation is completely volunteer-based and guided by a council of experienced teachers.
