# Introduction

Talk #1 - A Journey: From QA to SDET

A look at the question of why more manual testers are not making the transition to SDET. Based on my own experiences I'll discuss what is preventing testers from making this transition, how to overcome these obstacles, the key steps testers can take to begin the journey and what developers and SDET's can do to help.

Marc Jones, Software Engineer in Test at The Guardian with 7 years experience in testing

Talk #2 - Introducing wraith-donk

In July 2013 the BBC released the command line based responsive screenshot comparison tool Wraith (http://responsivenews.co.uk/post/56884056177/wraith). To make it more useful to our development team and CI workflow, we have wrapped the wraith process in a web server you can trigger by URL and which sends email difference notifications. We call itwraith-donk (http://www.theguardian.com/info/developer-blog/2014/feb/25/introducing-wraith-donk). This talk will include an introduction to wraith-donk and a live demo (if the live demo gods are smiling on me.)
