Join your fellow heathens for our monthly walk in nature. This month we will explore Bender Mountain in Delhi.
Being a westsider, this is my favorite place to hike. Filled with wildflowers, streams, and woods, Bender Mountain is home to hundreds of plant and animal species. Bender Mountain is part of Western Wildlife Corridor, a non-profit whose mission is to protect the scenic beauty and natural resources of the Ohio River Valley through direct land protection and through the promotion of responsible land use. They are always looking for volunteers to help maintain their making greenspace areas.
Please note this will be the most rugged of my hikes and Bender boasts some steep terrain. They don't call it Bender Mountain without reason. We will take a slow space and not leave anyone behind.
Meet at Premier Estates Retirement Community on Bender Road. Please park in the parking spots on the far right near the trailhead and to the right of their facility.
As always, my hikes are kid and fur kid friendly. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water for yourself and any kiddos.
After we can grab lunch nearby.
