Very well-structured! Discussion was well-organized and played to the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of the participants without being invasive or un-doable. Marla is an excellent group organizer and interacts well with all.

I first joined Marla's support group about a year and a half into my treatment for severe social anxiety. I was encouraged by my therapist to attend the meetings in order to counteract some of the isolation that comes with such a lonely struggle. Aside from making a great friend in Marla, who strives to make each meeting comfortable for new and returning members alike, it's been an extraordinary process of owning my anxiety. Members are all compassionate, patient, and encouraging; although facing our anxiety is inevitably intimidating, the group is full of kind, lighthearted people who respect each other immensely. Marla navigates every meeting with humor and sincerity, whether moderating discussion or challenging members with anxiety-testing activities. In the most delightful of ironies, this group has allowed me to make meaningful social connections by actually focusing on the struggle that I spent so long trying to hide. I wholeheartedly encourage other SA sufferers to join!

Quality support group for challenging and overcoming your anxiety. I happily traveled two hours from NYS for each meeting because it simply is worth it. Marla does an excellent job.

I like this group. When I listened to everyone, their stories of social anxiety were similar to mine. It was stressful to hear so many ways I have suffered in a similar way. I couldn't deny this problem I have. Overall it was comforting and invaluable.

From personal experience, this support group has helped me understand that there are a lot of people out there who share my fears and anxieties. I've learned that I'm able to lower my extremities, and finally managed my generalized social anxiety in a realistic manner. It's a real eye opener. Definitely worth checking out, particularly if you want to make friends and find an outlet to express yourself in a comfortable environment.

Amazing group of people, very sincere individuals. It was my first meeting so I mostly listened, but hearing what other people have to say, knowing the same issues as I do, and learning how they counteract these issues, was very beneficial for me.

I feel I need to keep attending until I find a comfort level to be around people I don't know. I want to get to the point were I feel comfortable around a meeting type set up.

Marla, the organizer, superbly facilitates a safe, non-judgemental, explorative, and informative group in which anyone with any form of social anxiety would greatly benefit attending.

When you suffer with this condition, life can be hard, joining this group could be the 'first' step to making your life just a little but easier by just the 'simple' fact of knowing that you really are NOT JUST the ONLY one out there. Thank you for Caring and Sharing about this condition.
