Haymarket HQ Square Table shares the untold stories of Australian startups founders that are doing business in Asia. Listen to entrepreneurs open up about their setbacks, learnings and experiences starting up in Asia-Pacific.
At AUD$28billion per year, international education is now Australia’s third largest export industry with Chinese students a main source of revenue. The growth of Chinese international students is not just limited to Australia, as more and more Chinese youths are choosing to study abroad and becoming the main targets of increasingly more universities across the US, UK and Australia.
Education equals big business and consequently, China’s education technology sector has been booming in the past few years. However, foreign universities, corporations and governments have little understanding about the Chinese education sector and how it might develop in the future.
That is, until EdTech veterans and ex-education investors Maria Spies and Patrick Brothers set up HolonIQ - a global market intelligence platform for education that aims to better predict and plan for the future of education. Not surprisingly, they’ve taken a strong focus on China.
Maria and Patrick will discuss the following topics:
The role of Asia and China in Australia’s education sector
Global education trends and possible impacts for Australia
Innovation in the education space in China
Opportunities for your education business in China
