We are gathering to explore a fresh and exciting question: How does practicing meditation, chair yoga, and qigong in a natural setting affect us, our practice, and our relationship with the natural world? As urbanites, how do we find and contemplate our personal connection with nature while living in the city? How have people thought about the relationships between their contemplative practices and our way of being in the living world? How might our perceptions of nature be informed and enhanced in such a process?
This summer we are practicing Meditation, Qigong, and Chair Yoga outdoors at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL)
Monday, June 30: Qigong and Meditation;
Mondays, July 14 & 28: Chair Yoga and Meditation.
Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Cost: $15/class.
Will meet outdoors, weather-permitting, with access to an indoor space in the museum if needed.

Meditation Instructors: Joy Reese. Joy has been a member and instructor at the Shambhala Meditation Center for over 20 years. Tina Hirsch: Tina has been a student at the Shambhala Meditation Center for twelve years. She holds two Master's degrees, in Biology and Anthropology, and taught in these fields throughout her career as an educator, and creating, coordinating and teaching environmental education programs as well.
Qigong and Meditation Instructor; Jennifer O'Hara. Jennifer has taught Eight Pieces of Silk Qigong for over ten years and has been a student of meditation at the Shambhala Meditation Center for fourteen years.
Chair Yoga and Meditation Instructor: Jane Musgrave. Jane is co-owner of Ganesha Yoga and Adventures in Fitness.
