FAQs

  1. Do I need a medical marijuana card and is cannabis provided?
Medical cards are not required in California since Prop 64, however, since it passed, we've had to become a "BYO" event." Adults are legally allowed to share, and there's always plenty to go around.
  2. Do I have to use cannabis at Ganja Yoga?
Yoga is great, enhanced or not. Sometimes students enjoy enhancing their practice with cannabis, at other times they prefer having a yoga practice without cannabis. Some people have a CBD only practice. It's always up to you.
  3. What do I need to bring?
Bring a yoga mat, props if you need or enjoy them (2 blocks, strap) and water bottle.
  4. How much cannabis should I consume for this practice?
First-timers to Ganja Yoga or yoga in general might want to start slow and consume less cannabis than they usually do. See how you feel first, you can always consume a little more later or in your next class. Some people with higher tolerance levels might smoke more. Everyone's relationship to cannabis is different. Be mindful of your body, intention and usage.
  5. Is this practice safe? What if I haven't done yoga before?
Yes, this is an all-levels gentle slow flow yoga class, oriented towards mindful awareness and relaxation. Javiera teaches yoga from a trauma-informed perspective. Psychedelic Peer Integration Circle

Link visible for attendees

Psychedelic experiences can be deep, transforming, healing as well as challenging and confusing. Integration is how we make meaning of these experiences and weave them together with our everyday lives.
This group is designed around a Peer Integration model. We will convene in a circle and invite you to share your experience. Sometimes these can be very raw. The group is here to support you and listen from the heart. There are no experts, only fellow peers with whom to speak and be heard. Feedback is available upon request.
Facilitators: Javiera Köstner, Sebastian Beca, Dr. Sandra Dreisbach
*** COMMUNITY GUIDELINES ***

  1. Confidentiality

It's ok to share your personal experience with others but please refrain from sharing any information about other participants. This includes no photos, screen shots, recording, etc.
2. Active Listening

We practice holding space and listening from the heart with compassion in a non-judgmental way. Staying present and grounded through your body as you listen. Silence is OK, can be sacred and we invite it.
3. Speaking from the Heart

It can be challenging to speak, take your time and come from the heart. The Yoga of the Voice is all about practicing to speak your truth.
4. Feedback

Only offer reflections if someone has requested them. Do not give advice or talk-down. It's OK to share your experience as it relates to what was shared but keep it on topic and brief.
5. Honoring time and avoiding cross talk

Participants are welcome to share between 5-10min and if the request feedback there will be another 5-10min for this. Facilitators will assist in time keeping.
6. Staying

This is a sacred space and your presence is felt. If you join the circle we invite you to stay until the end, or at least not leave when someone is sharing. If you need to excuse yourself early please let the group know.

About the Class
Ganja Yoga begins with a 20-min vape sesh circle. This is where you are invited to partake with Cannabis, meet new friends and prepare for the class. We then come together through a brief check-in circle and slowly step into movement. Class is catered to all levels of experience, you are welcome to pause at any moment and rest in child's pose or savasana. The class is set to an atmosphere of trippy music and soft lighting which invite the exploration of the deep psychedelic realms within. Each trip is unique!

Cannabis Use
Cannabis use is always optional in this class. If you're new to cannabis you might start off with CBD or a low THC option. Vaping, tinctures, topicals and edibles are all welcome. We will be refraining from smoking or combustion inside this location for fire hazard safety. Thank you!!
This is a 21+ BYOW (Bring your own Weed) event. Having said that, sharing among adults is legal.
