What we're about

Welcome!

We are so excited you found this group. If you are looking to create meaningful connection and more understanding in your conversations and relationships, you are in the perfect place.

This is a space where we cultivate authentic relationships and deepen our understanding of ourselves and others.

We meet every other week on Thursdays from 6pm - 8pm.

This practice group is based on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process by Marshall Rosenberg. If you are not familiar with NVC, this is a great group to begin with. All levels are welcome.

We follow a recurring program of 8 meetings to cover and practice the key elements of NVC. It takes practice to break the competition mindset and shift to a collaborative one. (You are welcome anytime, just see the outline below!)

Expect dynamic exercises and activities to practice key elements such as empathy, honesty, observations, feelings, needs and requests.

The intention is to practice a language that supports connection, and therefore improves our relationships.

The more we live in harmony with our values, the easier it is to create a peaceful world.

Limited space available.

MUST RSVP on meetup event to confirm space and receive the address.

👉🏽 What is Nonviolent Communication?

Nonviolent Communication (sometimes known as Compassionate Communication) is a way of interacting that facilitates the flow of communication needed to resolve differences peacefully. It focuses on shared human values and needs, and encourages the use of language that increases goodwill, and avoidance of language that contributes to resentment or lowered self-esteem.
Nonviolent Communication assumes that enriching life is the most satisfying motivation for doing things, rather than being motivated by fear, guilt, blame, or shame. It emphasizes taking personal responsibility for choices and improving the quality of relationships as a primary goal. It is effective even when other people involved are not familiar with the process.
