What we're about
WELCOME TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL CANDIDATE FORUM
For a number of years the Constitutional Candidate Forum has been challenging candidates to adhere to the Constitution through public debates and lectures. In preparation for the election season we are encouraging citizens to join with us in promoting this effort. We will continue to conduct forums in upcoming elections and welcome your participation Please see the write-up below of one of our Constitutional Candidate Forums that was posted on 1/30/12.
January 2012 Constitutional Candidate Forum-Raleigh
(From left to right: Diane Rufino (constitutional attorney from Greenville), Mike Beitler (candidate for North Carolina Secretary of State), Nelson Dollar (North Carolina State Representative), and Glen Bradley (North Carolina State Representative and candidate for State Senate).
The purpose of the Constitutional Candidate Forum is to promote the election of constitutionally-minded candidates to political party offices and civil government positions at the city, county, state, and even the federal level. In addition, this group will support elected officials and patriotic organizations that are working to restore constitutional governance. The passage of constitutionally-based legislation will also be a primary focus of this group. This group is pan-partisan in that it encourages the participation of patriotic constitutionalists from all political parties. If you are a prospective candidate or patriotic group and would like more information about the vetting process to be endorsed by the Constitutional Candidate Forum, please contact the Forum Director, Don Watson at firstname.lastname@example.org
Candidates and organizations of all political affiliations can be considered for endorsement and will be vetted according to the 3-C Paradigm.

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the first Constitutional Candidate Forum here in Raleigh. It is one of a series (http://constitutionalistgatheringplace.com/schedule.html) cosponsored by Founders Truth (http://www.founderstruth.org/), the Frederick Douglas Foundation, and the Constitutionalist Gathering Place (http://constitutionalistgatheringplace.com/). Bill LuMaye of News Radio 680 WPTF (http://www.wptf.com/showdj.asp?DJID=23698) was the MC.
Don Watson, the organizer along with Greg Brannon of Founders Truth, said the event and the attendees “laid down the gauntlet for the candidate vetting process.” That included candidates at the local, state, and federal levels.
“If you did not attend it was your loss. However, you will have an opportunity as more Forums are being arranged for at least one a month for the next few months,” Watson shared.
Richmond County will host one on February 18; Greenville is March 10th; Wake County again March 31st & April 28th; Mecklenburg County in May; and the Triad in June.
While the event may have justified more, about 50 people attended. One person had this to say:
“We need more of this style of format to find out what the candidates know about the Constitution and how they would apply it and defend it, after all they are required to take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.”
“I would like to see the entire field of candidates seeking the same office participate in this style forum so that we could compare their constitutional knowledge and their commitment to upholding and defending it.”
