Interested in doing content strategy for the government? Work for the government and want some tips and advice from your peers? Please join us to hear from a panel of web professionals who have extensive experience navigating and influencing government organizations.

We'll have networking at 6 PM, and hear from our panelists starting at 6:30. The panel will be Q&A format, so come prepared with your questions!

Panelists include:

Katherine Spivey is Web/social media manager for the General Services Administration's Integrated Technology Services. She focuses on making web pages easy for customers to use, and has faced every content problem known to mankind.

Bernetta Reese has served throughout the federal government at the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Homeland Security, Commerce, Education, and Housing and Urban Development leading teams and driving change through digital and strategic communications and information technology. She also takes part in events across government, most recently with the White House, State Department, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to help inform and engage the public via social media. She began her public service career in 1999 -- more than 15 years ago. She has been a guest speaker for the 2013 Next Generation of Government Summit and was recently appointed as the[masked] Public Relations Officer for Toastmasters International District 27.

Andrew Hughey is a Product Development Director in the IRS Office of Online Services. He has helped build user-centered products and services for nearly two decades as a product manager and user experience designer. Andrew has also worked as a medieval history professor, a prehistoric archaeologist, a researcher in west Africa, and a pretzel baker. He’s never been a web ninja, online guru, or digital rockstar, but he was a webmaster once. Ok, twice.
