Join us for an evening with Ann Rockley, author of Managing Enterprise Content: A Unified Content Strategy (http://www.managingenterprisecontent.com). She is hosting this Meetup while she's in town for LavaCon (http://lavacon.org/2012/) and the Content Strategy Workshops (http://contentstrategyworkshops.com).
Snacks and sodas will be provided.
To cover hotel costs, we'll collect $10 per person at the door--cash only, please.
Co-organizer of the Content Strategy Workshops, Scott Abel (who recently kept us all laughing at his recent Meetup downtown), says, "We'll have some goodies to give away as well. It will be fun."
Topic: Adaptive Content Strategy for Multiple Devices
Organizations have fallen into the same trap that they fell into years ago when print was the dominant format for communication. Print-oriented content did not work well on the Web. Now organizations are doing the same thing, designing content for desktop/laptop presentation, without an understanding of how their content performs on a mobile device. They still continue to design content for a given platform, a certain screen resolution, or a given size on the screen—the container of “the page.” But content is no longer restricted to the page; people expect to be able to consume or use content on the device of their choosing. Organizations are turning to responsive content as a solution, but it isn’t necessarily the best solution. This session introduces the concepts of adaptive content, responsive content, and how we can create adaptive content strategies.
