Gina Hills, who joined the UW in 2006 after 18 years as an editor and online manager at the Seattle P-I and

She'll talk about what worked and what didn't, and how to navigate your way to success in a politically charged environment with stakeholders who relish autonomy and independence.
Schedule for the night: 7:00 pm Meet & greet, mingle, network, etc. 7:30 Gina talks, followed by Q&A 8:30 Wrapup, post-talk discussion, the ritual exchange of contact information, etc.

The best session so far. Fabulous work by the organizers bringing engaging speakers. I would love more "unfilmed" sessions full of secret tricks and tips like this one :)

Excellent presentation (especially since there was no powerpoint). It was great to hear how you apply CS when you're in-house in a large and cantankerous organization. Since I also work in large orgs, it was nice to learn some tips on dealing with the inevitable jockying for position on the home page and other facts of corporate life. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic. One of the best presentations we have had so far. Big thanks to Gina, both for doing such a great job, and especially for sharing with us some of the secrets of her success. (And as always, thanks to Scott, Vanessa & the leadership team for creating & leading such an informative and relevant group)

Great speaker, informative talk. Esp. in how to deal with politics. That's something not often discussed, but so important.

If street parking is gone, there is a lot across the street on 35th for the library branch. Five bucks all night, though.

No parking lot, but I've never had a problem finding street parking.

Is there parking at this building or is it paid lot parking/find your own?
