WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking proposals from creative agencies and freelance
individuals to undertake part-time writing duties for our
Community/Social Media team.
WHO ARE WE?
Corbis is a creative resource for advertising, marketing and
media professionals, providing a comprehensive selection of
photography, illustration, footage, typefaces and rights
clearance services. Through its branded web sites Corbis,
Corbis Motion, Veer and GreenLight, the company helps the
creative community make distinctive advertising and publishing
for the Internet, magazines, newspapers, books, television and
films. Corbis is based in Seattle, with offices in North
America, Europe, Asia and Australia that serve more than 50
countries. Corbis is owned by its Chairman, Bill Gates.

The Community/Social Media team within Corbis provides
marketing programs and product information for our brands on
our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the
Corbis Blog. We also assist sales, customer service, and other
teams throughout the company seeking information on our areas
of expertise.


WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH?
The Community team seeks to increase our responsiveness in
posting timely content, monitoring our community, planning new
contests, and measuring our engagement within our communities.

Overall, we seek to drive traffic to our web properties and
encourage e-commerce sales.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a part-time interactive writing professional
that possesses the writing skills to encourage customer
participation, comments, and click-thrus. This person should be
familiar with writing content for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube
and WordPress platforms. You should be able to exhibit a
creative flair for presenting content in a unique way that’s
interesting to our community. You should be familiar with the
digital ecosystem of blogging, social networks and online
communities.

You’ll create buzz and excitement about our Corbis brands and
work closely with the Community Manager to drive new fans and
followers. You’ll also promote marketing campaigns and work
closely with customer service and PR.

Responsibilities:

• Draft Facebook and Twitter posts for review as described in
the content calendar.
• Develop and maintain a 60-day content calendar.
• Schedule approved posts for syndication to Facebook, Twitter,
and Corbis Blog.
• Report on metrics associated with these platforms.
• Perform research on competitors and social media trends as
directed.


Seeking a person with:

• Strong writing skills.
• Some knowledge of social media platforms and tools.
• Good judgment and team skills who can and work effectively
inter-departmentally
• Strong verbal communication and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Some HTML, FBML, and design skills desired.
• Video compression and editing skills a bonus.

Compensation:
• Monthly retainer of approximately $2,000-2,500, with expected
output of 10-15 hours per week.

Location:
• Seattle or Calgary.
