- The role of metadata in content strategy
Michael Andrews is an independent content strategist and author of No More Silos: Metadata Strategy for Online Publishers (2019) and Metadata Basics for Web Content (2017). See, https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-andrews-303720/ This short talk is aimed at a general audience, who may not know much about metadata. It will appeal to writers and designers who may wonder why they should care about metadata, and suggestions on how they can use metadata in their projects. We are looking for a venue. Any volunteers?
- UX writing AMA (Ask Me Anything) with Michael Metts and Andy Welfle
We've got such an overwhelming response to our 2-day UX writing workshop with Michael Metts (Conversation Design Lead at Allstate) and Andy Welfle (UX Content Strategy Manager at Adobe) that we thought we hold a Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with the speakers on 11 March at the National Design Centre. So, come on over and ask the authors of the upcoming book on UX writing on anything about the subject. Want more reasons to attend, read DesignSingapore Council's interview with the speakers: https://www.designsingapore.org/modules/design-news/sdw-2019-ux-writing-the-designer-unicorn-skill
- Defining content workflows
A content workflow establishes the process for requesting, creating, reviewing and publishing specific types of content. It is the key to sustaining your content strategy. Without it, we soon descend into content chaos – reactive publishing, late delivery, endless review cycles and broken user experiences. How do we steer content through the multiple people and systems involved? And how do we ensure that what we publish is timely, useful, clear, consistent, and on brand? Join Christine and Maish from PebbleRoad to find out! They will share a framework and tools for defining a content workflow to keep your content strategy on track. Venue British Council, Room 306–307 30 Napier Road Parking The nearest carpark is at Tanglin Mall. Please note that parking is not available at the British Council.
- Building a content strategy with content types
Come learn about content types, the unsung workhorses of your content and UX strategy. Content types are simply recognisable chunks of information such as press releases, blog posts, recipes and events. Not only can they be purposely crafted to help you meet your business and audience needs, but they can also help your content flow in a multi-channel world. Join us as we go through why you need content types, how to choose a good mix of them and how to design them. We're privileged to be holding this meetup at IDA Hive in Sandcrawler. - Let's talk about voice and tone
It's time for meetup #2! In this session, we tackle voice and tone. In digital, it's not just about what you say but how you say it. We've all come across websites or apps that delight us with their distinctive personality; conversely, we've also seen interface copy that strikes a wrong note. How do we get it right? Digital marketing consultant Adrian Koh will share his process of coming up with a voice and tone that both reflects the brand and connects with the target audience. Come join us to share and learn!
- Content strategy meetup kick-off
Hey folks, It's time for the first Content Strategy Singapore meetup! Let's get together on Thursday, 7th July to kick-off the community and get to know one another. We'll start by defining content strategy and how it is different from content marketing and copywriting. We'll also look at some of the elements of content strategy, such as content types, content modelling and content design. Finally, we can discuss the market for content strategy work in Singapore. We need a venue for this meetup. Any suggestions? Let us know!
