  • Need to push back another week due to a last minute trip to Shanghai next week

Had to push this back a week due to a work conflict

At the last meetup I hosted we had several discussion topics we tabled for a future meetup... we'll cover as many as we can in this meetup, and save the remaining ones for the next meetup.

Agenda Item #1: How Science, Philosophy, and Religion are compatible and complementary

I have a theory on how Science, Philosophy, and Religion are all perfectly compatible, and useful for different complementary purposes.  I'd like to share this philosophy with the group to get reflections on it to see whether its a useful philosophy to adapt.  If we agree its useful, we may add it to the life philosophy we developed last time.

Please try to read this 1 page paper before the meetup, if possible:

Feel free to add comments before the meetup with any questions or doubts you may have.

Agenda Item #2:  Let's discuss what an ideal utopian society could look like

I have an idea I'll throw out there, and we can discuss that plus any other ideas the group has.  I suspect if we get through item #1 this will take the remainder of our time, however I have a 3rd agenda item we can cover if we finish both up, which is a discussion of free will.

At this venue there is a minimum of $10 of food and drink per person, but don't worry if you can't afford it just let me know and I will cover you in my bill.  Just think of it as my way of supporting both the restaurant and free discussion amongst all people, including those with lesser socioeconomic means.
