What we're about

This meetup organises events in the eastern suburbs, particularly in Coogee and Randwick. Whilst it will obviously appeal to people who live locally we welcome people from outside the area as well!. We have no age restrictions and our members range from late 20s to 60+, though most are in their 40s and 50s.

The group started in 2010 so that we make new friends and have a great time right here in our beautiful laid-back seaside environment!! We do a mix of things from drinks nights, local music venues, to breakfasts to picnics in the park, even the occasional house party. Our group is friendly without being cliquey and we welcome newcomers.

Can't wait to meet new people and explore the area's attractions together.

Friday Pub Night. Bonus Piano Man singalong from 10pm

Charing Cross Hotel

Join me for a fab Friday night at a great local pub. There's good food options available if you'd like to eat, plus an excellent selection of beers, wines and cocktails. And there's the bonus of a fabulous Piano Man Sing-a-long from 10pm. The Charing Cross Hotel in Bronte is a contemporary gastro pub influenced by modern European & Australian cuisine. Initially built by Irish convict William Newland who gained his freedom in 1833 & borrowed £600 to build what was the first Hotel in the area. It was regularly used as the first meeting place for Waverley Council, while Newland St (named after that famous convict, and the first publican) is still the home of the Council's Bondi Junction office. Recently the pub has had a rejuvenation as a seamless drinking and dining venue, delivering fine local produce & a wide variety of craft beers, ciders & wines. There is an excellent bar menu has all the standard pub favourites. Click this link for more info https://www.charingcrosshotel.com.au/ The 'Charo' is easily reached by public transport with bus stops close by. Almost all Bondi Junction bound buses from Coogee, Maroubra and Randwick pass the door. I'll be there from 7.30pm and am looking forward to a great casual pub night with some friendly locals. Purchase your own drinks and meals at the Bar. The Piano Man is really good and starts at 10pm.

There's also a tribute to the glory 70s days of HUSH with Rick normally singing the huge hit Boney Moroney himself. The emphasis on performing songs that appeal to a wide age group of music lovers who will dance, sing and shout for more!
